The way the useless girl aggros all the trash mobs was hilarious and spot on. I used to obsessively play an MMORPG and I feel like the drama did a way better job in depicting what that online world feels like, with the guild disputes, and even the dungeons. Love o2o drama will always hold a special place in my heart as it brought me back to watching Chinese dramas. In the drama, the leads were too perfect. But I do like that the film made Xiao Nai's character a wee bit less godlike. Jing Boran definitely loses here based on looks. Both are beautiful but I have to hand it to Angelababy for her performance.Īlso can't forget Yang Yang. I did like drama portrayal of Bei Wei Wei but I do think Angelababy added way more emotion to the character. I get that its due to having more time to tell the story in the drama because you're not cutting things to fit a movie time frame.
There was so much more dimension in the drama to all the characters and you could really feel the friendship between Xiao Nai and his friends as well as with Wei Wei and her friends. I definitely agree that the CGI in the movie is way better than in the drama but I still prefer the drama over the movie.
